The Yard House Restaurant is a modern, upscale establishment that focuses on American cuisine and draft beers. Located at Domain Northside, an upscale mall with a wide selection of upscale dining options, Yard House stands out as the leading dining option for beer lovers, due to its extensive selection of draft beers. The restaurant has a dark vibe, with a modern, upscale vibe. You have the option of dining inside or at their outdoor terrace. Candlelit tables, each paired with a Ziosk, make it easy to order and pay for your food. You can always count on them to play your favorite classic rock jams as well as modern hits. There are TVs everywhere with sports channels running so you never miss your favorite teams. Founded in Long Beach, California in 1996, Yard House now spans the United States with over 75 locations.

Court House Menu

Yard House offers an extensive selection of gourmet favorites. Their globally-inspired menu features over 100 made-from-scratch favorites, from signature entrees like Poke Nachos and Fried Mac & Cheese, to street tacos, grilled burgers, pizza, seafood and steak. There is an option for every desire! If you still have room for more, their dessert menu has plenty of tasty options, like the brookie, which is a cookie dough fudge brownie with vanilla ice cream, and a bread pudding with custard. Under some of the food options, they have a “beer pairing” which is a suggested and curated drink to complement your meal. During my visit I ordered the BBQ Bacon Cheddar Burger and the beer pairing was the House IPA. If you don’t have a high alcohol tolerance, I advise you to bring a DD!

To eat

Poke Nachos are the go-to appetizer at Yard House. They cost $14.99 and are made with marinated raw ahi, crispy wontons, avocado and a host of other delicious ingredients. On their online menu, there is a recommendations tab that highlights some of their most popular dishes. I would personally recommend the Fried Calamari and the BBQ Bacon Burger. For just $13.49, the Calamari is a hearty appetizer with a zesty flavor and the perfect balance of crispy and chewy texture. The BBQ Bacon Burger is a mouth-watering combination of flavor and sweetness, plus a smoky flavor for $15.49.

Booking process

There is no official reservation system, but they allow you to call ahead. Additionally, through its online portal, Yard House allows you to join a waitlist directly from your phone. Luckily when we went there was no wait so we didn’t use the waitlist feature. However, it seemed necessary for a busy night when their phone lines ring nonstop.

Online ordering process

From their website, online ordering portal lets you choose from their extensive menu, ranging from appetizers to draft beers and takeout. Once you’re done selecting your dining options, you can select the Yard House you want to go to. For me it automatically selected the Yard House at the Estate, from there I was able to choose a pick up time and date. They allow you to schedule another date to pick it up or you can choose to do it as soon as possible which they say would take around 30 minutes to prepare. Then you can customize your order to your liking, as well as add any special chef instructions. Then you place your order!

The Yard House Restaurant is a upscale restaurant in Austin with an extensive menu of burgers, seafood, tacos, pizza, and sweets, as well as a long list of draft beers and other alcoholic beverages. Wish they stayed open later as other bars nearby close at 2am. They regularly play classic rock jams and have a bunch of TVs in the dining room with sports shows. I really enjoyed the fried calamari as well as the BBQ Bacon Burger. Drinks were good but strong – I ordered a House IPA and barely finished it due to bitterness. All in all, I really enjoyed dining at Yard House in Austin and would definitely recommend trying it!
